Saints Rain On The Vikings Parade 14-9 in the season opener

For the Champions a win is a win. To win a low scoring game like this really boost the confidence of their team knowing their defense can bail them out every now and then. Hence my typing sarcasm J. I’m a California girl who goes all in for my Vikings, so yes I’m a bit hurt *wink*.

The Saints could have had more points, but a variety of mistakes made the game a lot closer. Brees completed 27 of 36 passes for 237 yards & 1 touchdown. Robert Meachem dropped a ball in the end zone, and Garrett Hartley missed two field goals. The defense played well in the second half, in whole they limited Favre big time. Special teams coverage on kickoffs was great! Sedrick Ellis is back, Glad Vilma is still Vilma, moved around pretty well. iCandy Darren Sharper looked handsome on the sidelines, while Malcolm Jenkins filled in for him. Jenkins had a few good plays but was lost a few times & was replaced by Pierson Prioleau for the remainder of the half.

My Vikings had No CHEMISTRY & I blame the QB. Have you training camped much Brett? Favre only completed 15 of 27 passes for 171 yards, a touchdown, & interception. Adrian Peterson averaged 4.6 yards for 87 yards on 19 carries. Shiancoe finished as the leading receiver with 4 receptions for 76 yards &making the Vikings only Touchdown. The extra point was blocked. I’m still trying to figure out why a CART was used to carry off Bryant McKinnie? What a way to scare us fans for only a finger injury! The Vikings defense is the Real Deal, D-line will be unstoppable & will shine if they stay focused! Key player Sidney Rice who is rehabbing his hip was definitely missed! He was with my Vikings in spirit & via Twitter: Rice tweeted, “Let’s go Vikes. Ad, Percy, BB, GC and B4 PUT IN WORK!” - @sidneyrice

Bottom line is we all love intense high scoring games, but the Vikings needed to win just to redeem themselves. It wasn't the most spectacular way to open a title defense, considering it was a rematch of the 2009 NFC title this past January, in which the Saints won in overtime. Tough game for both teams, mostly a battle between our defense. The Saint’s need to change up their pass/run game. Good win for New Orleans. Now we have 10 days to get it together & gain a few extra days rest. Skol Vikings Just WIN me some games! The Vikings next game is against my boy Charles Grant former (New Orleans Saint) & the Miami Dolphins September 19, 2010 in MN.
