Hump Day How Tonot go to jail for child abuse and how to make some real money...
This blog entry is brought to you by my 4 year old cousinMakarei! I woke up this morning laughing about how embarrassed I was in December the last time she & I were together. Makarei proved to me that not only "white" children cut up in grocery stores, but my people as well...the spoiled "I'm the only child" I can have it my way, bad a** children that tell their parents what to do on a regular and like fools they do it!
What started off as a quick stop in the store for a few pounds of ground turkey, fruit, vanilla soy milk and bottled water turned into me having to do the "pinch & walk fast"! You read it right, I pinch and walk fast when its not my child ;)
Barely making it through produce Makarei starts to fuss about eating grapes that her mom had not paid for. So I told her, "No, keep it moving", she cut her eyes at me, I brushed it off because shes only 4 and guess what? Her mom thought it was cute that she cut her eyes at a 33 year young woman.
She began to cry Loudly and fell out in the middle of the grocery store!! I was so over it by now and as I was turning to walk away I almost head butt my daughter who is definitely my child because she was trying to walk away as if she wasn't with US. My daughter was giving me this look like, "Mom, please do it! Please stop her from making the only 4 black people in Byerly's look like we did not deserve to be in here."
I smiled at my daughter, she put her iPod head phones back on her ears, smiled and walked away and I kindly walked over to my 4 year old cousin and PINCHED her! Her loud scream turned into a screech of shock and she looked up at me, my eyes were in major squint mode and I said "get it togther"...her mom HOLLERED! Thank you, I need to bring you to the store with me all the time!
Message: Buy the fruit, don't sample! I think its tacky when parents and their children sample every fruit in the market. It makes you look broke & hungry, and that might very well be the case but its still tacky.
Message: Sis, its not cute that your child can dance, sing or rap better then they can walk, read or write. It's not up for debate, its tacky.
Message: No, you don't need me to fly from LA every 2 weeks to go to the store with you because you can't controll a 4 year old. Demonstrate the "Pinching" fingers before you head out and your shopping experience will be a breeze.
I love to read, I read very well! Black people quit rushing out to grab the latest "Urban Fiction" all the time! Explore your intellect once in a blue moon and Read: Rich Like Them
The debutfrom an Esquire scribe who braved snarling guard dogs and secret service agents to gain entree into America's 20 richest neighborhoods, this work of Gonzo Business Self-Help features in-person interviews w/ 50 loaded businessmen. Each explains in lurid detail how they became filthy rich, from reinvesting in their real estate portfolio, to creating a machine that peels shrimp.
Learn why We're still broke and when you make some real money you will not have to use your "pinching fingers", you can hire some one to pinch for you at Amazon.com ~ "O" The Touring Empress
This is some straight up bull sh**! In 2009 we still getting dumped on by faulty A** PIGS while we are unarmed & not resisting!! One of my twitter folks TatWza created this video & I just had to post it, It's time for the new generation of Angela Davis', Assatta Shakur, Mumia Abu Jamal, Tupac's to stand up! Educate ourselves and our loved ones so that these Pigs will pay for destroying our legacy!
I received an email yesterday from Guerrilla Funk and the following to Do's & what not to do come's from Them! Thank you for this info it is very useful!
Keeping yourself safe and resisting the police state comes down to these simple principles:
1) Non-cooperation: If you talk with the police, you could unintentionally hurt yourself, your friends, or others.
2) Do not consent to searches: Never give law enforcement the okay to examine your pockets, car, backpack, or home.
3) Remain silent: Say nothing except "I'm going to remain silent, and I would like to see a lawyer."
4) Talk to a lawyer: Never take advice from the police, they may try to trick and mislead you.
5) Use trust and intuition: Work only with people with whom you have a history of trust. Without being paranoid, trust your intuition.
Rights During a Police Encounter
In a police encounter these rules will help protect your civil rights and improve your chances of driving or walking away safely. From here on out, we are talking about your legal "rights" guaranteed by law. Though in our view, what you can do and what you can do legally are two different things. All of these rights also apply to minors and non-citizens.
Keep Private Items Out of View
This is common sense: Always keep any private items that you don't want others to see out of sight. Legally speaking, police do not need a search warrant in order to confiscate any illegal items that are in plain view.
Stay Cool & Politely Assertive
Police are well armed and often unpredictable, so remaining cool and calm will keep you safe. Treat them with the caution you would treat a dangerous, wild animal.
Be polite and yet assertive to ensure that your rights aren't trampled on. Some officers may come on heavy if you are not absolutely submissive, but standing up for your rights will keep you safe in the long run, in court when it really matters.
Determine If You Can Leave
You don't have to talk to the police. As soon as an officer approaches you, ask the officer, "Am I free to go?" If you get an answer other than a definitive "No," gather your stuff and leave without another word.
You have the right to end an encounter with a police officer unless you are being detained or arrested. Don't waste time trying to determine your status. Test if you are free to go, and then go. If you aren't free to go, the officer will make it perfectly clear.
Use the Magic Words
If you are detained or arrested, use the magic words:
"I'm going to remain silent. I would like to see a lawyer."
Do not talk to police. Wait to talk to a lawyer representing you. Even casual small talk can come back to haunt you. Anything you say can, and will, be used against you.
Cops have numerous tricks to get you to talk. They can and do use fear, solitude, isolation, lies, advice, playing you against others, and even kindness to get you to cooperate. Don't be fooled. If you need to say anything, repeat the magic words.
Keep in mind the credo: If no one talks, everyone walks. Regardless of what you are told by an investigating officer, you have nothing to gain by talking to the police...and everything to lose.
Refuse to Consent to Searches
Officers seeking evidence will often try to get you to allow them to search your belongings, your car, or your home. Refuse to consent to a search, with the phrase:
"I do not consent to a search."
Usually, a search request will come in the form of an ambiguous statement, such as, "I'm going to ask you to empty your pockets." Answer such requests unambiguously. Repeat as many times as necessary.
You are under no obligation to allow a search. The only reason an officer asks your permission is because he doesn't have enough evidence to search without your consent.
Police officers are not required to inform you of your rights before asking you to consent to a search. If the officer searches you in spite of your objection, do not resist. Your attorney can argue that any evidence found during the search was discovered through an illegal search and should be thrown out of court.
Do Not Try to Bargain
Police officers will often tell you that your cooperation will make things easier for you, and many people hope to be let off easy if they are honest and direct with the police. The only thing it makes easier is the officer's job. Do not let the threat of arrest scare you into admitting guilt. Better to spend a night in jail, than years in prison. Ask to speak with a lawyer, and remain silent.
Where to Go For More Help
If you feel your rights are being violated, hold tight until you can talk to a lawyer. If you don't have your own lawyer the court will appoint the public defender to defend you. For more information about your rights, law education, and what to do if your rights were violated, check out:

DJ LS One is one of My Dearest Friends, My Co-Defendant, My DB4D...
O'neika (Me) Jessica, DJ LS ONE and Chubby (my brother) on tour in Dallas, TX Circa 2000, Anger Management Tour(DMX)
BIO:DJ LS ONE has steadily been rocking crowds since the tender age of 8 years old. From outdoor jams in the parks in Brooklyn, NY to elite clubs and major concerts, from wedding receptions with his father (who was also a DJ) to exclusive private and industry parties. DJ LS ONE has definitely established himself as one of the industry's most talented and energetic masters of the turntables.
In 1989,he met the legendary DJ Mr. Cee (Big Daddy Kane's DJ) from New York's radio station HOT 97, who noticed a raw and undeveloped talent in this young teen. DJ Mr. Cee took him under his wing…and there it began. LS took the hip-hop game by storm. Mr. Cee had him on 91.5 WNYC, doing one of the hottest hip-hop shows in NY at the time. Also filling in on Hot 97 for him. From there he went on to do the HANK LOVE and DNA radio show on 105.9 WNWK, spinning alongside DJ REG-REG. Later he went on to REG'S own show on the same station. During his time there, he interviewed the rap trio ONYX. Recognizing his talent and professionalism, the group invited LS to meet Jam Master Jay & audition for the job as Onyx’s DJ. Many other dj’s also tried out for the spot but LS One’s outstanding talent clearly showed that he would be the better choice. After seeing LS’ skills, control & professionalism on the stage, Jam Master Jay & Sticky Fingaz asked LS to become Onyx’s DJ, which he graciously accepted, and thus began his ride into the DEF JAM family.
In 1996, ONYX broke up as a trio. That break-up lead LS back to spinning at clubs and on the radio. One year prior, LS met DMX, another artist on the DEF JAM label. DMX and the RUFF RYDERS recognized LS' skills while he DJ’d for ONYX, and asked him to be a member of their team. It was at that point DJ LS ONE became the official DJ for DMX and a member of the RUFF RYDERS family. Life on the road continued. In March 1998, LS went on the HARD KNOCK LIFE TOUR. Then the CASH MONEY/RUFFRYDERS TOUR in 1999, the ANGER MANAGEMENT TOUR in the year 2000, as well as numerous spot dates and tours throughout the US, Europe, Japan and the Caribbean. He has also worked with other artists such as: SCOOB & SCRAP LOVER, RED HOT LOVER TONE (Trackmasters), ILL & AL SCRATCH, EVE (Ruff Ryders), DRAG-ON (Ruff Ryders), THE LOX (Ruff Ryders), Q-TIP (A Tribe Called Quest), G-DEP (Bad Boy), GURU (Gangstarr), Busta Rhymes, Redman & Method Man, Raekwon (Wu-Tang Clan), Jadakiss (D-Block) and many more…
Every summer since 2002,LS has DJ’d for NSYNC’s Charity For The Children Fund Raiser in various cities. On September 9th 2004, LS DJ’d for the wedding of N’SYNC member Joey Fatone. Prior to that on December 26th of 2003, he even spun for the wedding of the one & only NBA future Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal. During spring break every year LS spins in Cancun & Acapulco, Mexico with Student City & Paul Himmelfarb. In the summer LS also spins for Alonzo Mourning’s celebrity weekend, “ZO’s Summer Groove” in Miami, Florida.
DJ LS ONE has also made his mark on the party scene. After taking the advice of his friend & mentor, The World Famous Kid Capri, LS decided to also do parties. When not on the road, he DJ’s at some of the country’s hottest parties, events and clubs. In Florida alone, he has rocked clubs such as LEVEL, AMNESIA, CRISTAL, STEREO, CROBAR/CAMEO, KRAVE, LIQUID, GODDESS, LIVING ROOM, NV, OPIUM GARDEN, PRIVE, MANSION, SHORE CLUB, SKY BAR, The FORGE’S CLUB GLASS, CLUB B.E.D, SUITE, The FIFTH, DREAM MIAMI, CLUB PASSION, PANGEA (HARD ROCK CASINO & HOTEL FT LAUDERDALE) and many more. DJ LS One’s resume includes guest spots on various clubs & radio stations in almost every major US city from clubs in New York, D.C., Philly and Maryland straight across to Minnesota & Arizona to Las Vegas & California, & almost every city in between. LS currently reside in Downtown Miami, South Florida. Aside from being one of the premier DJ’s in the world of hip hop, LS also plays for open format & house/dance parties. A true DJ is not limited to what it is he/she can play.
LS is currently a member (and the second of only 3 Official DJ’s) of the G-Unit family. Since Sept 6, 2004, LS has been the personal DJ for G-Unit’s Young Buck, then Lloyd Banks’ DJ & is now Tony Yayo’s personal DJ. Since his time with G-Unit, he has also performed with the rest of the artists on G-Unit Records label, 50 Cent, Mobb Deep, M.O.P, Spider Loc, 40 Glocc, Hot Rod, Olivia, & has toured with Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks & Young Buck individually & internationally.
DJ LS ONE,now a teacher of his craft. He has started his own company called LS MANAGEMENT GROUP, LLC., with 9 dj’s already under the company is dedicated strictly to DJ management and music production. He has a number of upcoming projects and appearances to add to his already long resume including production and the long awaited and anticipated MIX CD collection.
Its been quite some time since I last seen you. I Remember when I was in high school, I use to follow you around dying to battle any punks to jump up to get beat down. I'll admit you were my first crush. I followed you to another coast to rekindle my love. I mean who didn't love or admire you and your crew that consisted of so many great Femcee's and MCs (Queen Latifah, 2 Pac, Biggie, Nas, LL, Black Moon, CoCo Brovas, to name a few).
If you only knew how much I truly MISS and LOVE you who else would've convinced me to sample Blue Cheese, Pink Cookies, Cappuccino, CREAM or a chance to Lose My Wallet in El Segundo. I fondly remember you promoting UNITY, man that place had cats begging to get into ciphers (whether it be rhyming or dancing). Through all the murky cannabis smoke and body heat from lifted heads at the Varsity Theater that's when I knew you loved me back.
But I noticed you changed after the death of Big L, Freaky Tah, Pac, Biggie and J Dilla. I guess that's when you decided to propose to that home wrecker R&B and years later you conceived Crunk which took a bit getting use to. When you cheated on me, I fell seriously in love with basketball. I ran into Neo Soul she said she enjoys the way you stare at her and is ready for you to make a move. Hip Hop your a confused man, torn in between several lovers. Stay cheating on your first love, I know in due time you'll get over this lyrical illness until then I'll be waiting patiently.
